Another opinion on unit tests over integration tests
We shared a while ago about writing integration tests over unit tests in defense of slow feedback loops. This article also covers many of the similar topics around why unit tests can provide false confidence.

A take on McKinsey’s approach to developer productivity
This is related to the post by McKinsey we linked last week. McKinsey targets a different customer base who may value their offering to measure and improve developer productivity.
Most modern engineering companies would understand that there is no silver bullet. Companies like Google, FB have been trying to solve this problem for a long time, and Nicole Forsgren’s work in Accelerate is also a great example of why this is a hard problem.
A survey on data privacy, security and identity challenges in the age of GenAI
Data privacy is on top of everyone’s mind as the Gen AI tools are becoming more popular in the industry. Some teams are rightfully worried, and it’s making the life of CISOs challenging. Yet to be seen whether some entities (EU?) would attempt at defining standards for AI companies on handling customer data for training purposes.
